Six Degrees of Fancast

sixdegrees.jpg

After recently seeing Michael Cera and Jason Bateman together again in the movie “Juno,” we grew nostalgic for one of our favorite sitcoms, “Arrested Development.” We went home and watched several episodes on Fancast, where we also looked up “Arrested” creator Mitch Hurwitz as we were curious to learn more about him.

Well, on the Mitch Hurwitz page – one of more than 2 million such people pages – we clicked on the Six Degrees button, a feature that lets users explore connections between TV shows, movies, actors, and crews, and we found that Hurwitz had also produced episodes of the sitcom “Less Than Perfect,” a guilty pleasure of ours for one main reason, actress Sara Rue.

Don’t ask. But that sent us on a Sara Rue tangent, which reminded us that she’d worked with Sherri Shepard, who – duh, now co-hosts The View – but once guested on “30 Rock”, which we weren’t aware of, and before we knew it we were watching episodes of “30 Rock” on Fancast. Then we started to explore Six Degrees of Tina Fey, which amazingly led us from Carrie Fisher to Harrison Ford to Mike Nichols to “Charlie Wilson’s War” to Tom Hanks to “Saturday Night Live”…

After screaming, "Holy Tina Fey!" we could no longer remember when we’d seen “Juno.” But that explains Fancast’s Six Degrees. In one click, you can discover and explore a world of connections and information. Give it a try. Just make sure you’re ready to spend some exploring.
