New content partners sign up for Fancast

That’s right – the list of shows on Fancast has gotten even longer. In addition to an array of popular series from CBS, NBC and Fox, Bravo, Discovery, and The USA Network, we’re excited to announce a partnership with Viacom that will add hit shows from MTV and VH-1 to the site’s roster of choices.

That means Lauren Conrad and the gang from The Hills, Scott Baio and others are joining Fancast’s unparalleled roster of online programming, which already provides instant access to over 3,000 hours of free, streaming, full-length content, as well as short clips, interviews and movie trailers.

For a complete list of shows available for immediate viewing, you can go directly to Fancast’s “Full Episodes” page and browse the menu of primetime hits and classic favorites. Now, with the addition of series from VH-1, MTV, and Comedy Central, you will find even more great choices.

At Fancast, we are constantly expanding our partnerships. We are proud of the depth and variety of content we offer our users. It separates us from other sites that stream video from a single source, and puts Fancast in a class by itself.

Six Degrees of Fancast

After recently seeing Michael Cera and Jason Bateman together again in the movie “Juno,” we grew nostalgic for one of our favorite sitcoms, “Arrested Development.” We went home and watched several episodes on Fancast, where we also looked up “Arrested” creator Mitch Hurwitz as we were curious to learn more about him.

Well, on the Mitch Hurwitz page – one of more than 2 million such people pages – we clicked on the Six Degrees button, a feature that lets users explore connections between TV shows, movies, actors, and crews, and we found that Hurwitz had also produced episodes of the sitcom “Less Than Perfect,” a guilty pleasure of ours for one main reason, actress Sara Rue.

Don’t ask. But that sent us on a Sara Rue tangent, which reminded us that she’d worked with Sherri Shepard, who – duh, now co-hosts The View – but once guested on “30 Rock”, which we weren’t aware of, and before we knew it we were watching episodes of “30 Rock” on Fancast. Then we started to explore Six Degrees of Tina Fey, which amazingly led us from Carrie Fisher to Harrison Ford to Mike Nichols to “Charlie Wilson’s War” to Tom Hanks to “Saturday Night Live”…

After screaming, "Holy Tina Fey!" we could no longer remember when we’d seen “Juno.” But that explains Fancast’s Six Degrees. In one click, you can discover and explore a world of connections and information. Give it a try. Just make sure you’re ready to spend some exploring.

The Fancast Watch List

FC_WatchList.jpg

A funny thing happens when people apply new technology to their lives. They adapt, and then they want more. At Fancast, we know the features that impress you today are the same things you’ll take for granted in six months. We’re the same way. That’s why we are constantly developing new applications.

Later this year, we plan to launch a feature that will allow you to use Fancast as your entertainment reminder by creating a Watchlist, what will essentially be a personalized playlist. With the Fancast Watchlist, you can note what movies and TV shows you are interested in watching even if they aren’t yet available. You can even set this organizer to tell you when something is on a specific format.

Maybe you are interested in “Sweeny Todd,” but not so interested that you will go to see it in theaters. The Fancast Watchlist can let you know when it’s on a premium cable channel you subscribe to and send you an email or SMS reminder. If you like, the Watchlist will automatically alert your DVR to record the movie at the next availability.

Here’s another example. Let’s say you are interested in “Batman: The Dark Knight.” Even though they haven’t finished making it yet, you can put it on your Watchlist and forget about it. In a year from now, long after you’ve forgotten about it, Fancast will tell you when the movie is in theaters. You’ll even be able to tell Fancast to purchase tickets for you through Fandango.

All you have to do is show up at the theater. Sorry, we can’t do anything about finding you a parking space.

The Watchlist is just one more way Fancast is making it easier for you to organize and personalize your entertainment watching, so you don’t have to miss anything good. Even better, you don’t have to waste any of your valuable time.

Watch free full episodes and movies online!

Fancast now has full episodes of TV and movies that you can watch instantly, for free, and without having to download confusing or complicated players. It sounds too good to be true, but hey, we built it like that – because we’re as into entertainment as you are. On Fancast, you get instant access to more than 3,000 hours of streaming content from NBC, CBS, Fox, MTV, and Discovery, and other networks.

On the Fancast’s “Full Episodes” page (fancast.com/full_episodes), you will find a menu of the most extraordinary range of choices on the web, including primetime hits (The Office, C.S.I.: Miami, 30 Rock, House, The Simpsons and Heroes); critical favorites from cable (Damages, Monk, Burn Notice); top reality series (Kitchen Nightmares and The Hills); daytime soaps (Days of Our Lives); game shows (Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader); classics (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The A-Team); sci-fi favorites (Battlestar Galactica and Lost In Space); and our Fancast flashbacks (Doogie Howser, M.D., Buffy the Vampire Slayer); plus special interviews, clips and more.

By more, we mean full-length movies you can watch right now – features such as Sideways, Master and Commander, The Jerk, and other selections. But rather than continue to list all the viewing options we give you, let’s put it another way. Say that you start watching content on Fancast this moment and don’t stop until you’ve seen everything available. You’ll be watching around the clock for the next 125 days. But we don’t recommend you do that. By the time you’re finished, we’ll have more for you to watch – lots more.

Manage your DVR

FC_ManageDVR.jpg

We are trying to help simplify life wherever we can. This year, Fancast will enable you to program your DVR recordings in advance from your computer. You’ll never miss a show again – at least if you miss one, it won’t be our fault. It will be as simple as logging onto the site and choosing the programs that you want to record. It’s one more example of how we are always thinking about ways that we can simplify your entertainment experience. Better, easier and more efficient. We want you to be able to sit back and watch…whatever you want, when you want.
